The biography of Tahirih, b. 1814 in Persia, who was an early Bahai leader. She is a prominent figure in 19th Century Middle Eastern history for her skill as a poet, her theological insights and her ability to organize and inspire women to reject their oppressed status. In 1852, at the age of 38, she was executed for her Bahai beliefs and activities in support of women's freedom.
