The Arabic translation of Alice Walker's 1976 novel that has been described as a meditation on the modern civil rights movement. This novel tells the story of Meridian Hill, a young black woman in the late 1960s who attends college at a time when the civil rights movement becomes violent. She soon discovers the limits beyond which she will not go for the cause, and although her nonviolent methods seem less radical than some of her peers, it proves to be an effective way of furthering her beliefs.
