Shortlisted for the 2020 IPAF. The Russian Quarter is a neighborhood that refuses to enter the war going on around it, until finally, after many years of resistance, it finally gets involved. Not in the traditional sense with weapons, but rather with stories. A grand menagerie of characters make up these stories including a giraffe from the zoo, a female Afghan hound, and a sparrow made of wool. Humans include a French teacher, a translator who lives in the zoo, a former oud player from the cabaret, and more.
