One of the most important works by the well-known and unconventional Iraqi social scientist is his criticism of the human mind. Influenced by his reading of Ibn Khaldun, Freud, and Mannheim, he believed the mind is biased and untrustworthy. He also writes that the human mind is surrounded by a dense rim of values, beliefs and interests motivated by the subconscious. In this book, al-Wardi explores human thinking and logic with a look at psychology, sociology, politics and history.
