A group of Ethiopian Jews emigrate to Israel in search of a better life. Among the group is a man who changed his name and identity in order to travel with them. Upon arrival in Israel, Dawit doesn't find a better life, but rather suffers harrassment and discrimination along with the other dark-skinned immigrants in the country. Longlisted for the 2019 International Prize for Arabic Fiction.
