Critically-acclaimed Iraqi writer and poet, Amal Jubouri is known for creating a "new opening in Arab modern poetry". In her newest book of poetry, she apologizes to Iraqi Jews who were forced to leave Iraq in a government enacted mass eviction in the 1940s. Jubouri weaves her mourning into poetic text using everyday spoken language. Soon to be translated into English.
