This work explores the causes of the brutality and oppression of women through a discussion of the historical role of Arab women in religion and literature. It argues that the veil, polygamy and legal inequality are incompatible with the just and peaceful Islam. The woman depicted in ancient or modern Arabic literature is not the real Arab woman. Women will only liberate themselves after they become a political force that has the ability to act and take major decisions, and this will only happen through an organized women's force that is aware of its rights and goals. History shows us that socialist revolutions and wars of liberation accelerate the process of liberating women in the East or in the West. By the acclaimed Egyptian feminist writer, activist, and physician.
