Badi is a refugee child who carries a memento of his homeland that was given to him by his teacher. In the refugee camp everyone lives in a little house. He notices other little houses, too -- like where ants live, and birds, and the cat with her babies in a cardboard box. Badi dreams of becoming an architect one day and building little houses for other refugee families.
