The story of Salaan Carrabey and his poetry. Salaan Carrabey (1864-1943) is a notable Somali poet and best known for the poem of the same title as this book. Toloow colka jooja translates as "stop the war." It tells the story of two rival clans who decided to go to battle to finally settle a longstanding dispute. Salaan is said to have stopped the ensuing battle by reciting this poem.
