Banned in Kuwait by the Information Ministry, this novel by Abdullah al-Busais talks about life in Kuwait before and after the invasion of Iraq. At the center of the story is a bidoon youth growing up in the Gulf State in the 1980s and 1990s, a sensitive period in Kuwait's history. The bidoon are people living in and contributing to Kuwaiti society, but have never been granted citizenship.
